About this Report This report was released in spring Acceptance Rates The acceptance rate is that of applicants granted admission as full-time students for classes commencing in fall Student-to-Faculty Ratios The student-to-faculty ratio shows the number of students for that class per faculty member. Quinnipiac Law externship students have immersed themselves in advocacy for their clients and achieved results: arguing cases before the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts, helping draft proposed legislation that eventually became law, testifying before the state legislature, representing clients in matters before the state Board of Pardons and Paroles and the US Department of Defense, serving as second chair in a serious felony trial, drafting contracts, and handling cease and desist proceedings.
Quinnipiac Law provides a growing slate of offerings that build advanced global understanding and skill in working across cultures, including a new concentration in International Law and Policy.
Students in this concentration prepare to work on the global stage through a focus on international human rights, tax, and criminal law and are able to participate in an array of international experiences offered to all eligible Quinnipiac Law students. From classmates who will become friends for life to administrators and faculty members who go out of their way to get to know you, Quinnipiac Law students find their law school experience defined by a sense of community.
With a wealth of groups and support for student-led initiatives, students also find an environment in which to build the skills and credibility to take meaningful action and effect change. Students have ample opportunity to follow their interests and take the lead in different capacities, including a dynamic Student Bar Association SBA , service work and more than 30 different student-run organizations, including groups focusing on public service, like the International Human Rights Law Society ; particular areas of the law, like the Sports and Entertainment Law Society ; affinity groups, like the Black Law Students Association BLSA , OutLaws , and the Military Law Society ; and groups focused on advocacy and networking.
Students have opportunities to interview with employers for permanent positions and summer internships in the private and public sectors.
Quinnipiac Law alumni can be found in 48 of 50 states and abroad, and students benefit from the experience of an extensive network of more than 6, alumni who practice in Connecticut, Boston, New York, DC, and beyond. Within 10 months of graduation, 84 percent of the Class of were employed. While the majority are working in private law firms, business, and industry, Quinnipiac Law graduates are also well represented in a range of other employment settings including government, public interest, and judicial clerkships.
Full-time day and part-time evening programs are offered beginning each fall. Applications are encouraged from students of color, nontraditional students, and all students who add to the diversity of the student body.
A rolling admission system is employed; however, the priority application deadline for admission and scholarship consideration is March 1.
